Orientation Week

August 28, 2015
The first day week of anything is always hard.
That's why we celebrated a long week of orientation early with Mexican and margaritas.
(we did not deal with patients this week, no worries)

Post soon about Toronto and Welcome Week!

#WordlessWednesday

August 26, 2015
I mainly have no words because I just got back from Toronto and just started my new job.
Updates on both very, very soon but for now:

Summer Bucket List: Finale

August 21, 2015
Earlier this summer, I created a Single Girl's Bucket List and I updated it just once for y'all. Since my summer ends next Monday, I figured I'd let y'all know how this list turned out.

Take a spontaneous road trip
Technically it wasn't a road trip, but I did take a last minute trip to Chicago in July
I ALSO (pats self on the back) said yes to a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC 12 hours before we left
So double check!

Hike somewhere new (Panther Creek Falls, Tallulah Gorge anyone?)
Went on a mini hike at the Roswell Mill Ruins with a former classmate/friend/fellow nurse

Go out in Buckhead
Both for a friend's birthday and Fourth of July weekend
And again just because and for my brother's birthday and the day after...

Visit the World of Coke, Ga Aquarium, and Ferris Wheel
Sky View done on the Fourth of July

Go sky diving

Ride the new Atlanta streetcar
Rode this all the way from Centennial to Edgewood where I hopped off and visited some bars and the MLK National Historic Site

Shoot the Hooch
Go to a Braves game
Eat my way through Food Truck Park
Visit a friend in Seattle
Sign a lease for my own apartment
Visit the Civil Rights Museum
Go to the movies by myself
Learn one of Beyonce's many choreography numbers in its entirety
Slip-n-slide
Play on a playground

Climb a tree
I have to find this picture for y'all

Clean out my old bedroom
Make s'mores
Visit friends in New Orleans

Watch dumb reality TV shows without feeling guilty
Kardashians, Total Divas, Real Housewives, Rich Kids... Safe to say that I don't feel guilty in the least

Go on a date with someone outside my norm
Safe to say a Tinder date is "outside my norm/comfort zone"

Date myself

Watch a meteor shower
Sweet, sweet Perseid Meteor Shower August 12th
They're so stunning, y'all should really get out and watch the Gemenids in December if you missed this one!

See giraffes
Good ole Disney!

Craft

Go out and stay out until the sun rises
Such a fun night out with such wonderful friends!

Buy myself flowers

I start work on Monday and I know there are things on this list that won't happen... But I'm okay with that. It'll still be hot around here for a while so I have plenty of time to do a few more activities, including my outdoorsy things.

What awesome things did you get to do this summer?

Runnin' Thru the 6

August 19, 2015
via
Though I think there was some debate as to whether the people of Toronto actually liked that Aubrey Graham called the city "the 6," that's where I'm headed today.

Sissy's post-wedding party is officially this weekend and I am so excited to get out of the country and visit her and her husband and the city they love.

What's in store while I'm there?

Sightseeing
Drinking
Being touristy
Dancing with my in-laws
Trying not to look touristy
Meeting new people
Maybe some patio day drinking
FOOD
Did I say drinking?

I get back Sunday night and work starts Monday morning.
T hough I didn't achieve everything on my summer bucket list, what a way to close out this summer.

Brother's Day.

August 15, 2015
After a wonderful dedication of my high school football field for a friend who died last summer, I went out to celebrate my brother's 24th birthday.

I got home around 4am this morning and this is how I feel already.

I can't hang like I used to.

Dad's Day

August 1, 2015
Taking the day off to celebrate my dad's birthday with the family.
While his birthday was on Thursday, he and my mom had just gotten back from vacation so we decided to celebrate with the whole family a few days later so they could unwind from their trip and get back into routine.
I can't wait to celebrate the life of this amazing man who raised me - and I also can't wait to eat the delicious strawberry shortcake my mom made :D

I pray you all have a wonderful weekend full of love, light and laughter.

Pictures do the deliciousness no justice
